Today, I had the pleasure of dining at The Fire, a Korean restaurant located in Tropicana Gardens Mall. The restaurant recently underwent a simple renovation.
First up, I tried the Roasted Chicken. It came with a salad, rice ball, and three types of sauce – kimchi and soman-soman. While the chicken was flavourful, it was a bit dry for my liking. However, the sauces were a great addition and really brought out the flavours of the dish.
Next, I tried the Cheese Dakgalbi, a spicy and sweet chicken, with fish cake dish and toppokki. It was an explosion of flavours in my mouth, with the cheese adding a nice creamy touch to the dish.
The Cheese Toppokki was another standout dish. The Korean rice cakes were smothered in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce and topped with molten cheese. The combination of flavours and textures was divine.
The Fried Chicken Wing was another highlight of the meal. It came in four different flavours – bburingkling, butter garlic, soy honey sauce, and Korean spicy sauce. Each one was unique and delicious in its own way, and I couldn’t pick a favourite if I tried!
I also tried the Chilli Paste Marinated Beef, cooked with onion, leek, carrot, and toppokki. The beef was tender and flavourful, and the vegetables added a nice crunch to the dish.
For dessert, I had the Fish Bingsu, a popular Korean dessert. It was shaved ice topped with sweet red bean paste, fresh fruit, and pieces of fish-shaped cake. It was a refreshing and satisfying end to the meal.
The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food that was served. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and happy with what I had spent.
